Clarence Louis Pessica

Clarence L. Pessica, 89, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christen Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Pessica of Fort Dodge; son, Jon Pessica and wife Renate of Germany; and his grandchildren, Christina Pessica of Las Vegas, NV; Amanda, Michael, and Victoria Pessica all of Germany; niece, Carol Sue (Pliner) Wallace of South Bend, IN; and nephew, Chuck Pliner of Woodbury, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria June (McLagan) Pessica; parents, Joseph and Caroline (Broz) Pessica, sister, Helen Pliner; and brother, Charles Pessica. Clarence L. Pessica was born on January 3, 1926 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge; graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1944. From 1944 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII as part of 94th Infantry in the European Theater. On March 25, 1950, Clarence was united in marriage to Gloria June McLagan, the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He worked for Gilman Drug for 17 years while also working at National Gypsum, now Georgia Pacific, for 36 years until he retired in 1990. Clarence was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Knights of Columbus Council 613. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
