Clarita L. Matthys, 77, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. A gathering of family and friends will be FRIDAY, June 27, 2014 at the Fort Dodge Deercreek Apartments Chapel from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Clarita is survived by her children, Debra (Paul) Fritz of Des Moines; Linda Matthys of Fairborn, OH; Michael (Karen) Matthys of Los Altos Hills, CA; James (Elsa) Matthys of Angeles City, Philippines; Paul (Cindy) Matthys of Austin, MN; grandchildren, George; Jessica; Alex; Eric; Kyle; Jared; Jaya and sister, Carolyn Bentley of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Clara (Goehring) Bentley. Clarita Bentley was born May 3, 1937 in Webster City. She attended schools in Fort Dodge and graduated from Corpus Christi High School. On July 25, 1957 she was united in marriage to Edward Matthys. The couple made their home throughout the Midwest. Clarita was more than just a homemaker; her entire life was devoted to her family. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, bus trips to casinos, and butterflies. Memorials left to the discretion of the family.
