Clayton E. "Bill" Bockert, 93, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.; where there will be a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his daughter, Joanna Bemisdarfer of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Sherrie (Brian) McLoud of Fort Dodge; Mark Bailey of Belmond; Dianna Peterson of Fort Dodge; Jody Bailey of Sioux Falls, SD; Jess Simpson of Fort Dodge; six great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lena (Grimes) Bockert; wife, Ruth in 2002; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Jerry Ewing, and all of his siblings Clayton E. Bockert was born on November 1, 1919, in Fort Dodge. He was united in marriage to Ruth Kallansrud on December 7, 1938 in Dakota City. The couple farmed west of Fort Dodge. Bill and Ruth later moved to Fort Dodge. Bill worked for Tobin Packing, later becoming Hormel's, as a mechanic until his retirement after 36 years. The couple enjoyed to travel to Las Vegas and taking other trips. Most of all Bill loved spending time with his family. Memorials may be left to the discretion on the family.
