Connie Sauter

Connie H. Sauter, 71, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Connie is survived by her children, Troy Sauter and his wife Kathryn of St. Louis, MO; Tracy Trotter and her husband Tony of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Caroline Sauter; Madyson; Zach and Elizabeth Gailey; brothers, Mike Hood of Kiezer, OR; Pat and his wife Mary Pat Hood of Omaha; sister, Carol and her husband Bob Stover of Fargo, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Marie (Haupts) Hood and sister, Kaye Barnett. Connie Helen Hood was born December 14, 1945 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Pocahontas. She graduated from Pocahontas Catholic High School in 1965. She then attended cosmetology school in Spencer. In November of 1966, Connie was united in marriage to Dan Sauter in Pocahontas. They made their home in Omaha and later Fort Dodge. The couple later divorced. Connie was a long time homemaker that cared for her family. She was employed with the Marian Home for the past 12 years. She enjoyed sewing and reading but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
