Curtis M. Davis, 79, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11th 2017, at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home; with Deacon Dan Carney officiating. A visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 10th, 2017 at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Rose Davis of Fort Dodge; daughter, Kim Evans of Fort Dodge; sons, Scott (Kelly) Davis of Fort Dodge; and Steve (Patti) Davis of Fort Dodge; step-son, Keith (Jodi) Ricklefs of Knierim; 10 grandchildren, Jason Kaplan, Clayton Brown, Lexie Davis, Nash Davis, Kamden Gilday, Kendal Gilday, Keegan Davis, Kylee Davis, Kolton Ricklefs, and Kaleb Ricklefs; and a great grandson, "Buster" Clayton Brown; cousin, John Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Daniel Davis; step-son, Marty Ricklefs. Curtis M. Davis, son of Martin and Marian (Vibbard) Davis, was born on September 7, 1937 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Then attended I.C.C.C. where he played football. On April 14, 1975, Curtis was united in marriage to Rosella (Kavanaugh) Ricklefs in Elk Point, SD. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Curt served as a police officer for the Fort Dodge Police Department for 24 years, retiring in 1993 as Lieutenant. Curt was a member of Holy Trinity Parish; the Iowa State Police Association; and past booster of the Cyclone Wrestling Club. Memorials may be left for family discretion.
