Dale C. Dencklau, 89, of Vincent passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home with Rev. Nicholas Thackery officiating. Burial will follow in Colfax Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the US Army Honor Guard. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The service will be livestreamed via the Laufersweiler Funeral Home Facebook page. Dale is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Calvin) Young of Webster City, Karen (Larry) Knutson of Beldenville, WI, and Laurie (Brian) Nelson of Thor, 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, brothers Delbert, twin brother Donald, Earl and Merlin, sister, Laverna Wilson, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dencklau, Barb Hilbert, Anita Dencklau, Charlotte Blankenhagen, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Juli in 2013, son Howard in 2018, granddaughter Melanie, great-granddaughter Leighton, his parents Anton and Elfrieda (Koester) Dencklau, his Aunt Meta and Uncle Alfred, brothers, Harold, LeRoy, Allen, Delmar, Richard, Marlin, and Larry, sisters Lorraine Larson, Elaine Dencklau, Joan Adson, Jane Konvalinka, and Betty Anderson. Dale Christian Dencklau was born February 28, 1932 in Vincent to Anton and Elfreida (Koester) Dencklau. He was baptized on April 10, 1932 and confirmed on April 14, 1946. At six months of age, he went to live with his Aunt Meta and Uncle Alfred who cared for him during an illness. He spent his entire life on Alfred and Meta's farm. He was educated through 8th grade. He was later drafted into the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1954 at the rank of Corporal. On June 17, 1955 he was united in marriage to Juli Hilbert at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He farmed his entire life. For 22 years he worked for IBP and then worked over 17 years for the Fort Dodge School System as a bus driver. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Colfax and the Moose Lodge #806 where he held numerous offices. He also was a member of the American Legion in Duncombe. Dale enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. When he wasn't tinkering on farm equipment, he enjoyed having a cold beer with family and friends. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
