Dan P. Finowski

October 9, 1968 — August 1, 2018

Daniel Paul Finowski, 49, of Fort Dodge passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Dan is survived by his son, Logan Finowski of Fort Dodge; very special friend, Jeanna Benson of Fort Dodge; parents, Marlyn and Stan Finowski of Virginia Beach, VA; and sister, Denise and Lalo Reyes and their son, Joshua of San Diego, CA. Dan Finowski was born October 9, 1968 in Virginia Beach, VA. He graduated from Kellam High School and received his Associate of Art degree from Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach. In 1998, he was united in marriage to Lori Zosulis Daniel in St. Ansgar, Iowa. The couple made their home in Virginia Beach and their best achievement together was their adored son Logan. The couple later divorced. Dan made his home in Fort Dodge to watch his son grow and help him become a man. As his career, Dan sold insurance for American Republican Insurance Company. Dan was born to surf, but loved anything outdoors including camping, fishing, snowboarding, and frisbee golf and was multiple year participant in RAGBRAI. One of his greatest joys was spending time with Logan whether they were playing football, building bird houses, or creating art. Dan loved to laugh and had an infectious smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorials may be left to family discretion. Celebration Of Life Sat, Aug 4, 2018 at 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home 307 South 12th Street Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501
