Daniel Elvin Klein

Daniel Elvin Klein went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2016. He is leaving behind his loving mother, Bobbie (Phipps) Schmieder; father, Elvin Klein; siblings, Matthew Klein; Elizabeth "Libbie" Schmieder; Sarah Schmieder; Mary Rose Schmieder; his lifelong friend, Heidi Kupka; nephew, Tyler and several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and his dog, Daisy. He joined his wife, Nicole; and brother, Andrew Schmieder in their heavenly home. Daniel was born February 1, 1976 in Fort Dodge. He was raised in the Fort Dodge area. Following his interest in computers, Daniel received his AA Degree from ICCC in Web Design. He loved to teach others about computers so he joined the Trio computer club at ICCC. That love to teach continued throughout his life. In October of 1997 Daniel married Nicole West. She passed away in 2002. Daniel worked at Heartland Communications using his tech skills. He liked to fish and would often be found at Brushy Creek target practicing. Daniel was a true and caring person. He wanted to help others in any way he could. By being an organ donor or even just lending an ear Daniel showed his compassion for others. He was hindered with a physical disease but he was rich in spirit. He brought a calming presence and reassurance to any situation. His family and friends would contribute that sense of wellbeing to his faith in Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
