Daniel G Mcmahon

Daniel G. McMahon, 81, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites presented by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. A visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Daniel is survived by his wife, Jean; brother, Joe (Shirley) McMahon of Fort Dodge; sister, Joan Horn; daughters, Kathy Coleman of Fort Dodge; Sherlyn McMahon of Fort Dodge; step-children, Jeff Lemmon; Marty Lemmon; Lori Agnes; Deb Groat; 3 granddaughters; 3 great grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; 3 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; Jean's brother, Joe (Mary) Schuster; and grandmother, Ione Schuster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Inga (Anderson) McMahon; son, Danny Joe; and brother, Wayne. Daniel G. McMahon was born November 5, 1933 in Fort Dodge. He attended country schools and Corpus Christi School. Daniel joined the Air Force at age 17 and served in the Korean War until he was honorably discharged. He was married to Jeannine Bird in 1957, and the couple later divorced. Daniel started working for the Fire Department in 1964 for 26 years. He was united in marriage to Gloria Jean on November 7, 2014 at Sacred Heart. Daniel also worked for Whites Transfer and Storage and drove the Dart Bus until he retired due to ill health. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
