Daniel J. Lychwick, 70, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. A time for friends and visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Corpus Christi Church. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Mount Carmel. Wearing of masks or face shields are recommended along with social distancing. Services will be live-streamed via Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home Facebook page. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Cheryl (Pudenz) Lychwick of Fort Dodge, brothers Bill Lychwick of TX, Jeff (Ellen) Lychwick of VA, sister Amy (Mike Mohler) Lychwick Howard of TX and his niece Laura Howard Kapuchinski, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Pat (Rich) Marshall of Omaha, Diane Pudenz of Carroll, Marlene (Mike) Leonard of Carroll, Dean (Michelle) Pudenz of Carroll, Larry (Paula) Pudenz of Auburn, Lynn Pudenz of Carroll and Carol (Jeff) Bernholtz of Estherville and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Dorothy (Czerwinski) Lychwick, mother and father-in-law Norman and Betty Pudenz and brother-in-law William "Bill" Pudenz. Daniel John Lychwick was born on July 10, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI. At a young age, he moved with his parents to Fort Dodge where he was raised and educated. Dan graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1968. He then attended the University of Iowa and attained his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications. On July 19, 1980 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Pudenz in Mount Carmel and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. From 1977 to 2000, Dan worked at K.W.M.T. radio in time sales. He then worked at Hy-Vee and later Wal-Mart in the produce department. Dan enjoyed slow pitch softball, bowling, golfing, and fishing. He served as a Greeter, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and sang in Holy Trinity's "Unity Singers" Men's Choir and also the Adult Mixed Choir at Holy Trinity Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, P.I.C.A. and the Brushy Creek Area Chapter for the American Red Cross. Dan was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Memorials may be left to P.I.C.A. or to Holy Trinity Parish both in Fort Dodge.
