Daniel Rhodes

Daniel Rhodes, age 79, of Tea, South Dakota, formerly Fort Dodge & Duncombe, passed away at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls, SD on August 25, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Washington Township Cemetery, Duncombe. A visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Dan was born on the family homestead outside of Duncombe, Iowa on April 12, 1935. He graduated from Duncombe High School. He married Lois Jane (Law) on March 10, 1957. Dan ran the family farm until 2006. He was a crop adjuster for 30 years and owned and operated Condon Insurance in Fort Dodge for 20 years. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Lois; daughter Lisa (Mark) Hansen, Tea, SD; sons, Thomas Rhodes of Stillwater, MN; Ronald (Judy) Rhodes, Maricopa, AZ; James (Clarence Weis) Rhodes, St. Paul, MN; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Eric (Emily) Rhodes of Tea, SD, and their children, Darryn and Devyn; Jason (Kate) Rhodes of Tea, SD and their son, Jaxon; Christian, Cooper, and Cari Hansen of Tea, SD and Lauren, Taran and Chandler Rhodes Maricopa, AZ. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
