Danny Walstrom

Danny Lee Walstrom "Danny Lee Daddy" passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by family at the age of 71.

He is survived by his children, Riley Walstrom (Marissa Nichols) of Fort Dodge, Cassidy Walstrom (John Achero) of Grimes, and Denny Phillips (Melissa Phillips) of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Noah Nichols, Mason Walters, and Emmalynn Warburton Walters. He is also survived by his siblings Timothy "Tim" Walstrom, Linda Habben, and Patty Jamieson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Weldon and Lois Walstrom, son Danny Lee, and sister Sandra "Sandi" Leapley.

Danny was born March 4, 1952 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools in Fort Dodge, Palmer, and Pocahontas, enlisted in the United States Navy in 1969, and received his GED during his service. He was honorably discharged in 1972 after serving three years on the USS Enterprise. In January of 1993, Danny married Cindy (Hines), and the couple made Fort Dodge their home. The couple was married for nearly 20 years before their divorce, but they remained best friends until the end. Danny worked for Fort Dodge Steel for about 20 years and later became a long-haul semi driver for Oberg and then Decker until his retirement.

Danny had a passion for all things motorcycle. He loved to watch movies and listen to country western, rock, and blues music. He had a great work ethic as well as a goofy sense of humor, and he loved his family more than anything.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Funeral services are private. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
