Darlene L. Larsen, of Knierim, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Bickford Cottages in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Marble Valley Cemetery in Gilmore City. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include her son, Richard (Barb) Jr. of Knierim; brothers, Keith (Janette) Kee of Fort Dodge; John (Delores) Kee of Justin, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mervel and Orlene (Strait) Kee; and her husband, Richard in 2012. Darlene L. Kee was born on January 15, 1937 in Gilmore City. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1955. On February 25, 1956 he was united in marriage to Richard Larsen. The couple farmed in the Fort Dodge area for many years before settling in Knierim in 1985. Darlene worked for the Webster County A.S.C., Decker Trucking, and the Arrowhead A.E.A. for 18 until retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Iowa Lions, and Iowa Retired School Personnel. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
