Fort Dodge Darlene Rummel 90, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Woodland Creek Retirement Community in Clive. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon Monday, April 8, at the Funeral Home until service time. Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Darwin; daughter Kely (Kurtis) Lawler of Grimes; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Wheeler; sons, Rick and Jerry Rummel; grandsons, Chad and Brad Rummel; her parents, Fay and Blanche (Bigger) Beddow; sisters, Margie Hooker, Bonnie Siefken, and Shirley OTool; and brothers, Richard, Darrell, and Larry Beddow. Darlene Beddow Rummel was born March 5, 1929 at Ruthven Iowa. She graduated from Pomeroy High School. On February 20, 1949 she was united in marriage to Darwin Rummel at Rockwell City. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge where they owned and operated Northside Service Station for 35 years until their retirement. In 2017, they made there home at Woodland Creek Retirement Community in Clive. Darlene was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fort Dodge. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her family was her life.
