Gowrie Darold L. Traster 80, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Pearl Valley Rehab & Nursing in Gowrie. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie, with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Memorial may be left to the discretion of the family. Darold is survived by his wife Colleen; brother, Terry (Joy) Traster of Ft Dodge, and Steve (Juline) Traster of Callender; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Amy (Scribner) Traster; sister Clara Krog; and brother Roy W. Traster. Darold L. Traster was born June 10, 1938 at Bedford, Iowa. He graduated from Gowrie High School, with the Class of 1957. Darold served in the Iowa National Guard for 8 years obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Darold farmed in the Gowrie area all his life. On June 20, 1992 he was united in marriage to Colleen Joy at the United Methodist Church, Cushing. The couple established their home in Gowrie. Darold was a member of the United Methodist Church, Gowrie. He enjoyed collecting, trading, rebuilding toy tractors, and woodworking.
