Daryle E. Steck, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery with military rites provided by the United States Marine Corps and the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Daryle is survived by his sons, Matt Steck of Waterford City, ND, Mark (Valerie) Steck of Harcourt, Rodney Cartee of Anniston AL, and Jim Gilbert of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Crystal (Chris) Wendell, Lance, Sheryl (Isaiah), Joseph (Jennifer), Timothy (Jocelyn), Shawn (Layla), Andrew, Alan "AJ", Amanda (Wes), Heather (Don) Watts, Aaron (Shawna), Krystal and Dustin (Jaci) Cartee, Aaron Glad; 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and sister Vickie Steck. He was preceded in death by his parents Tonnis and Fern (Marshall) Steck, wife Marlene Steck, children Michael Steck, Deb Gilbert, Dana Cartee, and Pam Steck, grandchildren Bret Steck and Heather Cartee Glad, siblings Sid (Jo) Steck, Bill Steck, Anita (Harry) Clayton, Jim Eastwood, Donna (John) Polka and Violet Steck. Daryle Eugene Steck was born December 31, 1930 in Fort Dodge. He attended area schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and then the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1954. On March 1, 1957 he was united in marriage to Marlene Eastwood in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Daryle worked for Hormel's for 34 years and retired in 1981. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
