David Bushore, 77, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Trinity Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2014 with Military Rites will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the Township of Moingona near Boone.
David was born April 27, 1947 to Ira and Florence (Paris) Bushore. He served during the Vietnam War in the Air Force. His careers were working for various city municipalities as the water and waste water operators. David was united in marriage to Joyce Anderson on September 8, 1984 in Fort Dodge. The couple were looking forward to celebrating 40 years together. David enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Precious. The chihuahua went everywhere with Dave and was often was seen porch sitting with Precious and giving the neighborhood kids "heck". He proudly became the grumpy old man with a dog. David took the scenic route anywhere and everywhere. He loved to fish, watch old movies, collect coins, play slots at casinos, hunting, and "shooting the sh*t" with family and friends. He was a past member of teamsters, member of the VFW and the DAV. In his retirement he delivered newspapers for the Fort Dodge Messenger and driving veterans to the Des Moines VA.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Bushore, sister Vivian (Fozil) Khan, children Kenneth Bushore, Richard (Kristine Kelley) Anderson, Lelania (James) Sullivan, Jessica ( Rick "Icky") Anderson, Kinzy (Blake) Valley, grandchildren Ashley Bushore, Melissa (Allen) Bushore, Eric Bushore, Gabrielle Bushore, Jeremy Bushore, Jenna Sullivan, Kaytlin Sullivan, JaeCiera Brown, Amariah Williams, great-grandchildren Christopher Sullivan, Damien Duranseau, Freya Bushore, with two more on the way in September and February. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons Steven and mark Allen Bushore, brothers LeRoy "Tuffy", Jess "Sonny", Marvin "Butch", Bruce "Barney" and sisters Bobbie Smith and Jackie Tabor.
Dave, "Uncle Dave", and his favorite title "Papa", will be forever missed.
