David Johnson

David A. Johnson, 62, of Otho, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Webster County 4-H Grounds, 22770 Old Hwy 169, with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the 4-H Grounds. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include his wife, Sheila of Otho; son, Matthew (fianc Niki Moritz) Johnson of Otho; grand dog, Lee Roy Brown; sister, Denise Ulicki of Dayton; brothers, Mark (Dena) Johnson of Lehigh; Mike (Kathy) Johnson of Webster City and Steve Coomes of Owensboro, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Agnes "Ski" (Fiferlick) Johnson; and his step-dad, Bill Duncan. David Albin Johnson was born on August 1, 1955 in Independence at the Buchanan County Hospital. He attended schools there and later the family moved to Lehigh. He graduated from Central Webster Burnside High School. On September 23, 1978, he was united in marriage to Sheila Grove and the couple made their home in Otho. Dave began his masonry career working for several different construction companies. In 1994, he went into business with his brother Mark owning and operating Johnson Bros. Masonry. Dave enjoyed gardening, was an avid gun enthusiast, and had an infectious personality.
