Rockwell City David L. Swank 78, formerly of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Graveside Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Manning Cemetery in Manning, Iowa, with Pastor Christopher Bowden officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Masks are recommended. Dave is survived by his wife Ginette, of 55 years; sons, David Swank and his wife Brenda of Rockwell City, and Jeffrey Swank and his wife Carla of Spencer; daughter Janine Swank of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren, Amanda Kortz of Tucson, Arizona, Marci (Chris) Bowden of Cedar Rapids, Abby (Colin) Eagan of Cedar Falls, Michael Swank of Spencer, Sadie Swank (fiance Scott Drees) of Marion, and Marisa Swank of Ames; 1 great-grandson Bricen Kortz; sister Verna (Bud) Boers of Lake Havasu, Arizona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Norine (Wycoff) Swank; and sisters, Betty Jessen, and Virginia Knudsen. David Liston Swank was born April 12, 1942 at Botna, Iowa. He graduated from Manning High School, with the Class of 1961. On July 25, 1965 he was united in marriage to Ginette Marie Kuker at Sacred Heart Church in Manning. The couple made their home in Audubon where Dave worked as the production manager for Talbot-Carlson Inc. In 1986, they moved to Tucson, Arizona where Dave worked at American Smelting & Refining Company until his retirement. During his retirement years he worked part time for the Northwest Fire District in Tucson until 2014. Dave enjoyed flipping houses and buying and selling cars with his brother-in-law Jim. In September of 2020, the couple moved to Rockwell City.
