David Lewis Ludwig

David L. Ludwig passed away February 6, 2014 at Trinity Regional Medical Center suddenly. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Piestsch officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. David Lewis Ludwig, 67, of Fort Dodge, was born November 10, 1946 to Arthur L. and Dorothy A. (Strine) Ludwig. He attended schools in Fort Dodge, Moorland, and Callendar. David is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a brother-in-law, Arnold Gregerson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gloria Gregerson; brothers, Robert and Arthur Ludwig, infant brother, Wesley Ludwig; and a dear family friend (sister Gloria's, mother-in-law) Goldie Gregerson. David was a very gentle, kind, and caring man, who loved his family whole- heartedly. He always worked, holding a variety of jobs throughout his life including: Animal Care at the Webster County Home farm, R.B. Clark's car dealership; Clements; B & F Sales, Fort Dodge Ford; and Wal-Mart since 1998 until he passed away. At various times, he enjoyed attending art and craft fairs, even at times being a vendor; reading books; collecting dog statues; gardening; fishing; going on rides with family; and decorating for Christmas (winning the city competition). He especially loved family picnics and get-togethers, no matter how big or small. The State Fair was one of his favorite things! A man of great empathy, he helped those around him no matter what he himself was going through. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
