David Roy Paterson

David R. Paterson, 54, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the By the Grace of God Church in Barnum, with Pastor Dan Prochaska officiating. Private interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Barnum. A visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Davis is survived by his siblings, Debi (Dean) Gardini of Fort Dodge; Duane (Linda) Paterson; Denise and Jeff Weiss both of Barnum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Anna (Nelson) Paterson. David Roy Paterson was born August 2, 1958 in Fort Dodge. He attended school in Barnum and graduated from Northwest Webster High School. Following his education he attended Technical College in Omaha. Following his graduation Dave was employed as a diesel mechanic in Fort Dodge. He later worked for the Messenger, the Freeman Journal, and at Pure Fishing of Spirit in Spirit Lake for a number of years. He was an avid Hawkeye fane and loved to fish and hunt.
