Delbert Roy Estlund, 79, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, October 27th, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30th at 10:00 AM at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Delbert Roy Estlund was born on September 7, 1944, in Fort Dodge to Herbert and Lena Estlund. He was raised and educated here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1963. Delbert then attended and graduated from Iowa Central Community College. In 1964, Delbert was united in marriage to Gladys Walters, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge and had 2 sons David and Ricky. They were later divorced. Delbert worked for Warner and Swasey Crane Company for several years. He then worked for Georgia Pacific for 34 years. On June 3, 1988, he met the love of his life Pat Zeka and were life partners for more than 35 years. In his earlier years Delbert enjoyed pheasant hunting, mushroom hunting, and going to auctions. He also loved to ride his Harley with his wife Pat. Delbert was very determined, he knew what he wanted and wouldn't settle for anything less. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Pat of 35 years, son David (Deb) Estlund of Fort Dodge, son Ricky Estlund of Fort Dodge, stepdaughter Kim (Scott) Bair of Badger, stepdaughter Tamee (Jerad) Helmers of Fort Dodge, stepson Mark Zeka of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Braydon, Bryce, Gabriella, Alexa and Ashley, 15 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, sister Nina (Jack) Standley of Webster City.
He was preceded by his parents Herbert and Lena (Bastian) Estlund, brothers Dennis, Melvin, and Delmar Estlund, sisters Delores Swanson and Inez Carpenter.
