Rockwell City Delores D. Smith 94, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Anita Bane officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge. Masks are required at the Church. The Service will be livestreamed via Palmer & Swank Funeral Home FaceBook Page. Memorials may be left to the United Methodist Church. Delores is survived by her daughter Sherry Padgett and her husband Thomas of Sioux City; son Roger Smith and his wife Gail of Franklin, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; parents, Alfred and Hazel (Griggs) Davis; and brothers, Eugene, Robert, Weldon, and Don Davis. Delores D. Davis was born September 15, 1926 at Barnum, Iowa. She graduated from Barnum High School with the Class of 1944. On December 31, 1944 she was united in marriage to Wayne E. Smith at the Calvary Presbyterian Church near Barnum. The couple farmed in the Barnum and Rockwell City areas. Delores worked various jobs including the radio station, 10 years for the Rockwell City School System as a bus driver and special education aide, and also the United Methodist Church. In 1986, the couple retired and moved into Rockwell City. Wayne passed away in 2010. Delores was a member of the United Methodist Church, and served as a 4H Leader.
