Delores "Dee" A Black

Delores "Dee" A. Black, 84, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday October 5, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will be at Lizard Creek Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the VFW Post #1856 and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 4:00 PM and a vigil prayer service at 7:00 PM all at the funeral home. Delores is survived by her daughters, Paula Hill of Texarkana, TX; Julie Isaacson of Fort Dodge; and Lori Breiholz of Fort Dodge; sons, Dan Black of Fort Dodge and Todd Black of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and her sister, Mary Rogers of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mahala (Fox) Heun and brothers, Robert; John; Harold and Tommy Heun. Delores Ann Heun was born March 31, 1933 on a farm near Gilmore City. The family moved to a farm near Fort Dodge in 1939, and later moved to Duncombe. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1951. In 1952 she joined the United States Air Force and served until 1954. Upon her discharge she married Gerald Black and raised a family. The couple later divorced. She worked at the Fort Dodge Labs for many years and then worked at Fareway for over 10 years. Delores was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the American Legion Post 130. She loved to spend time with the most important thing in her life, her family. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
