Dennis L. Jurgensen

Dennis L. "Denny" Jurgensen, 74, of Humboldt formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Humboldt North Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 17, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Rosehill Cemetery in Rockwell City. A visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Denny is survived by his daughter, Janice Jurgensen; grandson, Evan Jurgensen; sister, Kathy Jurgensen; and nephew, Jonathan Engman of Fort Dodge; as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Rose (Wendland) Jurgensen. Dennis Lynn Jurgensen was born April 14, 1947 in Rockwell City, Iowa. He attended area schools and graduated from high school in Manson. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he moved back to the Fort Dodge area. He was united in marriage to Paula Kruse. The couple later divorced. Denny worked for a container maker in Fort Dodge, Electrolux, and at a seed co-op before retiring to care for his sister Kathy. "Jurg" as he was known to many, loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
