Dennis R. Jones, 74, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 13th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home, with a Vigil Prayer Service at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife Carol, children Tina Thomas, Dennis Jr. (Shannon) Jones, Tammy Sue Lentsch, Jeffery Michael Jones, and Chad Allen (Anna) Jones all of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Timothy, Shane, Megan, Alec, Nathan, Cody, Austin, Lucus, and Laney, great grandchildren Rachel, Natalie, Kayden, Dominic, Theodyn, Mateo, Sebastian, Kellin, Jaxon, Wyatt, and Carson, brother Ronald (Iris) Jones of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Betty (Anderson) Jones, sister Constance "Connie" George. Dennis Ray Jones was born on December 18, 1947, in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated here. In 1964, he enlisted with the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1968. On April 14, 1967, Dennis was united in marriage to Carol Crimmins and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. For 22 years he worked at U.S.G. where he started in the quarry and ended up in the Board Plant. Dennis enjoyed being a handyman and was an accomplished carpenter. He loved time spent with his family and friends, especially going to the grandchildren's activities. Dennis was someone who was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
