Donald "Woody" D. Wood, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Allen Henderson, Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Allen (Grace) Wood of Fort Dodge; Donna (Scott) Pitman of Ogden, UT; Sue (Pat) Jones of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Dawn (Dave) Miklo of Fort Dodge; brother, Marion (Marlene) Wood of Fort Dodge; granddaughters, Stephanie and Heather Wood; Jennifer Bradley; April, Katie, and Autumn Pitman; Nicole Jones; Melissa Eisenbarth; grandsons, Christopher Wood; Michael Pitman; Erik and Ryan Jones; Cory Miklo; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gladys (Daisy) Wood; brother, Max Wood; grandson, Curtis Miklo; and granddaughter, Lynn Miklo. Donald D. Wood was born on September 30, 1935 in Lake City. Don worked for Celotex for 42 years retiring in 2000. On September 4, 1954 Don was united in marriage to Mary E. Henrichs. This year would have been the couple's 60th wedding anniversary. He loved to fish, travel, and spend time with his family. Don was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
