Donald J. Dencklau "Poor Ole Uncle Donnie" 89, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Marian Home. Donnie is survived by his children Pat Ziems and her husband Tim of Fort Dodge, Pam Fleming and her husband Jeff of Johnston, Craig Dencklau and his wife Julie of Ankeny, grandchildren Jenna (Kevin) Elmberg, Ryan (Melanie) Ziems, Alex (Mary) Fleming, Anne Fleming (Tommy Peetz), Miranda Dencklau and Jordyn Dencklau, great grandchildren Britton and Larkin, brothers Delbert, Earl, and Merlin, sister, Laverna Wilson, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dencklau, Shirley Dencklau, Anita Dencklau, Charlotte Blankenhagen, Rose Mary McCurdy, Lois Shimon, Ellen Rodenberg, brother-in-law Leonard Korte and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, his parents Anton and Elfrieda (Koester) Dencklau, brothers Harold, LeRoy, Allen, Delmar, Richard, Marlin, Larry and twin Dale, sisters Lorraine Larson, Joan Adson, Jane Konvalinka, Betty Anderson and infant sister Elaine Dencklau, brothers-in-law Harold McCurdy, Robert Korte, Dennis Shimon, and John Rodenberg, and sisters-in-law Mary Lou Korte and Liz Korte. Donald Jacob Dencklau was born February 28, 1932 in Vincent. In 1956, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Korte in St. Joseph Church in Palmer. The couple made their home on a farm near Badger, later moving to a farm north of Fort Dodge. Don farmed and owned and operated Dencklau Trucking for over 60 years. After JoAnn passed away in 1996, Donnie moved to Humboldt for almost 20 years until moving to Fort Dodge. Donald was a member of Knights of Columbus, served on the Fort Dodge Grain and Elevator Board for 15 years and was a member of New Coop. Donnie enjoyed visiting at the VFW and Bootleggers. He loved to play cards and drink beer. The best beer was always a free one. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
