Donald "Joe" Hill, 83 of Manson passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Acurra Healthcare in Pomeroy. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Entombment will in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. military rites will be provided by the V.F.W. Post #1856 and the United States Air Force Honor Guard. A visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone please wear casual attire for Joe's Funeral. Joe is survived by his wife, Karen of Manson; daughters Nadine (Tim) Roth of Bettendorf and Nanette (Brett) Munson of Attica, IN; son, Donald (Denise) Hill II of Fort Dodge; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Hill of Neosho, MO; Terry Hill of Clinton, IA; and his sister, Anna Bacon of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Anna (Davis) Hill; brothers, William and Robert Hill; grandson, Riley Joseph; and his mother-in-law, Elsie I. Bacon Donald Joseph Hill was born November 21, 1934 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. On February 24, 1955 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served until his honorable discharge in November of 1958. On January 9, 1960 he was united in marriage to Karen Bacon. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Joe worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk and retired after 26 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Webster County Genealogical Society. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
