Gowrie Donald K. Larson 82, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie, with Pastor Jim Davis and Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church until service time. Burial will be at Lost Grove Township Cemetery, near Harcourt at a later date. Memorials may be left to Zion Lutheran Church. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, is serving the family. Don is survived by his wife Jean; children, Alan Larson of Gowrie, Lisa Larson of Paton, Jon (Jill) Siefken of Manson, and Julie Siefken of Windsor Heights; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Larson of Gilbert, AZ; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Kenneth and Alice (Hansen) Larson; brother Robert Larson; sister Jane Larson; daughter-in-law Erin Larson; and brother-in-law David Zodl. Donald Kenneth Larson was born November 9, 1939 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Gowrie High School, with the Class of 1957. Don graduated from the Farm Operations Program at Iowa State University. He was also proud of being the Mens Basketball Manager for Iowa State Cyclones. Don served in the Army National Guard for six years. In 1967, he married Patricia Creger and the couple later divorced. On May 6, 1978, he was united in marriage to Jean (Richman) Siefken at Zion Lutheran Church. Don farmed, raised cattle, and owned and operated Don Larson Seed for many years. He had written and published two books. Don was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, served on Church Council, Webster County Cattlemans Association, and West Central Elevator Board. He also operated the Tractor Pull for the Gowrie 4th of July Celebration for many years.
