Donald E. "Tiny" Rockafellow, 75, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 27, 2021 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Tiny is survived by his wife, Vicky of Fort Dodge; children, Chrystal Damm of Des Moines, Teresa (Weslie) Phipps of Pilot Mound, JD "Rocky" (Kiley) Rockafellow of Fort Dodge, Shane (Megan) Rockafellow of Des Moines, and step-daughter, Monique Wickander of Estherville; grandchildren, Alec (Evelina), Austin (Maddie), Joshua, Angelica, Sharon (Ron), Mary (Kyle), and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Gavin, Claire, Carson, Asher, Anna, Adrian, and soon-to-be Estella; siblings, Dyle (Edna) Rockafellow of Sac City and Bonnie Garvin of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deone and Mabel (Harrison) Rockafellow; sister, Terry Rockafellow; brother-in-law, Harold Garvin and niece, Valerie Rockafellow. Donald Eldon Rockafellow was born December 2, 1945 in Lake City. He attended area schools and graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1964. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Baker, Sausalito at The Presidio during the Vietnam War from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967. He was attached to the 6th US Army HQ 40th Artillery Brigade and worked for the Army Air Defense Command. Tiny drove semi trucks for Yellow Freight and retired in 2010. He then worked for Certified Transmission until 2021. He enjoyed his pets and grand pets, motorcycle trips with friends, pulling slots and stock car racing. He loved to write songs and poems and could be found playing guitar in his bands Gray Stone, Gun Shy, Prairie Limo and Whiskey River and at the Country Music Jam Sessions in Otho. He loved entertaining people with his music and he never passed up an ice cold beer. The family wants to extend a special thank you to their neighbors of 20 years Jay and Jenny Ort, for being such great friends to him. They also encourage everyone to ride their motorcycles in the procession. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
