Donald E. Wolff, 74, of Spirit Lake and formerly of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Fort Dodge Villa care Center. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. John Sersland officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Donald is survived by his children, Evert (Janet) Wiss of Fort Dodge; Catherine (Michael) Stevens of Fort Dodge; Kimberly (Steve) Cabrera of Barnum; Vicki (Mark) Brezovan of Fort Dodge and Michelle Wolff of Spirit Lake; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Barb) of Fort Dodge; Robert (Colleen) of Sprit Lake; and Richard (Marlys) of Avon, MN. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Joyce (Bomberry) Wolff; wife, Shirley in 2011; grandsons, Mark and Matt Stevens. Donald Wolff was born April 27, 1940 in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge Schools. He was united in marriage to Shirley Lacina in California on May 9, 1961. The couple eventually established their home in Fort Dodge. Don worked as a commercial painter for the federal government throughout the United States. Upon retirement Shirley and Don moved to Spirit Lake. Don loved to participate in sports, especially fast-pitch softball. He was an avid Cubs fan. Above all, Don cherished his grandchildren. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
