Donna Mae Monson

Donna Mae Monson, 91, passed away Wednesday October 11, 2023, at Accura Health Care of Lake City. Private family funeral service will be held at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie with Pastor Susan Rohden of United Methodist Church, Gowrie officiating. Burial will follow at Gowrie Township Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Donna is survived by her son, Brent (Sheri) Monson of Gowrie; grandchildren, Taylor (Erin) Monson, Kaycee (Cody) Carlson, and Cory (Alicia) Turner; 3 great granddaughters; sister-in-law, Fay Cline; and 2 nephews, Perry Draisey and Dana Draisey. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sara (Kiefer) Geisler, husband Richard Monson, son and daughter-in-law Brad and Kelley Monson, sister and brother-in-law Janet and Dick Draisey, and brother-in-law Dennis Cline. Donna Mae Geisler was born November 3, 1931, in Jefferson and graduated from Gowrie High School in 1950. She also graduated from Commercial Extension School of Business in Omaha Nebraska in 1951. Donna was united in marriage with Richard Monson on June 19, 1955. She was employed at Iowa/Illinois Gas and Electric, Dr. Richard Hubbard Veterinary, and 20 years for Webster-Calhoun Telephone. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. SERVICES Private family funeral service will be held at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie OFFICIATING Pastor Susan Rohden of United Methodist Church. VISITATION No visitation is planned INTERMENT Burial will follow at Gowrie Township Cemetery.
