Donna Pommer

Donna L. Pommer, 89, of Otho, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Marian Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. There will be a visitation from noon until the time of services on Saturday.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Melanie Fortney of Fort Dodge, Son, Kendal (Janet) Pommer of Otho, daughter-in-law, Susan Pommer, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, parents, Lloyd and Faye (Loeschen) VanHooser, daughters, Marcell (Kem) Rasch, and Kendra Crapser, son, Kent Pommer, son-in-law, Steve Fortney, brothers, Conrad and Wesley VanHooser, and her sister, Gloria Mozena.

Donna Louise VanHooser was born on April 7, 1935, in Scranton. She was raised and educated in Boone, graduating from Boone High School in 1953. Donna was united in marriage to Kenneth Pommer on December 12, 1953, at the Sacred Heart Church in Boone. The couple established their home in Boone until moving to Fort Dodge in 1957. The couple then moved to Otho in 1960. Donna worked for the Central Telephone Company, later becoming Centel until 1984. She then worked various jobs until retiring in 1991. Donna is a member of Holy Trinity Church.
