Donna Wendell

Donna Rose passed away at her home on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Donna Rose Adson was born in 1953 to Don and Rosie (Jackowell) Adson in Fort Dodge, IA. She attended and graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1971. Donna began her employment at Hy-Vee in 1973. For 47 years she worked the courtesy counter and checkout lanes. She retired in 2020.

Lunches with the “Younkers” girls and dinners with the “Hy-Vee” gals were some of Donna’s favorite things to do – lots of laughs and gossip! She made many memories on the “Italian Cousin” reunions and loved her “leopard prints” in attire and accessories. The Sunday hour-long phone conversations with brother Bill chatting about food/restaurants and “solving” the world’s problems was another highlight. Donna’s great love for her grandboys was apparent every time they came up in a conversation. She never missed a chance to talk about the latest adventures they were doing.

Donna is survived by her children Jamey (Leslie) Hewitt of Brooklyn, NY, and Jennifer Hewitt of Fort Dodge; brother Bill (Norma) Adson of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Henry, Louis, and Avian Hewitt; and several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved Aunt and Uncle Maxine and Bill Vannoni, and many aunts/uncles on both sides of her family.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
