Rockwell City Dorothy L. Siemann 98, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. Burial of casket will be at Cedar Township Cemetery near Rinard. Visitation will 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Carol Rae (Don) Presley of Lake City; granddaughters, Robyn (Aaron Vonnahme) Davis of Arcadia and their children, Macie, Brennan, Makinnon, Madisson, Trey, and Will; and Jennifer Steinkuehler of Des Moines, and her children Jaelyn, Jadyn, Jacey, and Jaleya; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Siemann; parents, Walter and Carrie (Pirie) Cafferty; sisters, Velma Lyle and Arlene Sandeen; and brother Cleo (Jean) Cafferty. Dorothy Lee Cafferty was born January 9, 1924 at Rinard, Iowa. She graduated from Rinard High School, with the Class of 1942. Dorothy was baptized in the Lohrville Christian Church and later became a member of the Lutheran Church. On June 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to Carl Robert Bottin and one daughter Carol was born to this union. The couple later divorced. In November of 1993, she was united in marriage to Francis Siemann. Dorothy and Francis enjoyed traveling and dancing. Dorothy worked at the Coast to Coast Store in Rockwell City for 25 years until her retirement in 1992. Dorothy was a hardworking person and enjoyed her many friends. Francis passed away in 2010. Dorothy became a resident of Sunnyview Independent Living in Rockwell City. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran & Presbyterian Church. Dorothy loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, embroidering, dancing, and giving away jewelry crosses.
