Dorothy M. Kraft

Rockwell City Dorothy M. Kraft 83, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor Anita Bane officiating. Burial of casket will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church until service time. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Dorothy is survived by her children, Dianna Renzo of Rockwell City, Kathy (David) Weiss of Rockwell City, Cindy (Jeff) Blair of Lake City, Danny (Kandie) Kraft of Grand Junction, Debbie Harrison of Hamburg, and Matthew (Kelsie) Kraft of Rockwell City; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother Vernon (Patricia) Main of Lanesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Kraft; her parents, Robert and Lucille (Gates) Main; son-in-law Robert Porter; granddaughter Amber Kraft Sorenson; great-grandchildren, Riley, Autumn, and Braden Sorenson; sisters, Amy Jean Main, and Mary Lou Laughlin; and brothers, Tommy Main and John Main. Dorothy Mae Main Kraft was born May 29, 1938 at Verndale, Minnesota. At the age of 6 she moved with her family to Lidderdale, Iowa. She graduated from Lake City High School, with the Class of 1957. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Vernon Kraft at the Lanesboro Methodist Church. Dorothy worked as the administrator for the Calhoun County Home from 1964 to 1974. She then worked as food supervisor for the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. Dorothy worked as food service director for the North Central Correctional Facility in Rockwell City until her retirement in 1995. During her retirement years she worked at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. Vernon passed away in 2010. Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rockwell City.
