Dorothy Tabbert, 72, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Visiting hours will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Elkin. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Delbert Tabbert of Fort Dodge; daughter, Toni Tabbert of Fort Dodge; son, Troy (Jenny) Tabbert of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Christian and Amara. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Sallie Dorothy (Lynn) Waszko and twin sister, Esther Moon. Sallie Dorothy Waszko was born June 18, 1946 in Hackensack, NJ. As a young child, she moved to Fort Dodge where she attended St. Paul Lutheran Schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1964. She then attended Tobin Business College. After graduation, she began working at Land O' Lakes. On October 3, 1970, Dorothy was united in marriage to Delbert Tabbert at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. They made their home in Fort Dodge. Besides raising her children, Dorothy helped her husband in his contracting business. She also worked for Hardees and retired after working for Fort Dodge Public Schools as a para educator. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved her pets. Dorothy was a second mother to many and will be deeply missed. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
