Dorthy L. Heilman

Rockwell City Dorthy L. Heilman 56, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City. Dorthy is survived by her siblings, Nettie Camp, Rebecca Mohr, Lois Cooper, Theresa Barger, and Curtis Hiner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Connie (Coogle) Hiner; her father Frank Hiner; and brother Frank Hiner Jr. Dorthy Lee Hiner was born April 9, 1966 at Lake City, Iowa. She graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1984. In 1985, she was united in marriage to Rod Walters and the couple later divorced. In 1988, she married Timothy Heilman and they parted in 2003. Dorthy attended Iowa Central Community College where she received her EMT training. She was a Volunteer for the Rockwell City Ambulance for 10 years. She later worked as an EMT for the Cheyenne River Reservation Ambulance in South Dakota. In 2013, she returned to Iowa where she worked for Caseys General Stores until her retirement in 2015, due to her health. She later became a resident of the Pomeroy Care Center and then Park View Rehabilitation Center. SERVICES Services will be at a later date.
