Douglas J. Boker

Dayton Douglas J. Boker 74, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford. His wishes were to be cremated. Services will be at a later date. Memorials may be left at the discretion of the family. Palmer Funeral home, Gowrie is serving the family. Doug is survived by his wife Duan of Dayton; children, Mark (Kerri) Boker, Jason Boker, Chad (Erica) Boker, Michael (Marilee) Kinsey, and Melissa Kinsey; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Barbara Babbitt of Shenandoah, and Jean Swalla of Kasson, MN; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (King) Boker; and sister Phyllis Sandstrom. Douglas John Boker was born March 12, 1946 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Central Webster High School. Doug worked at Iowa Beef Products for many years and did construction until his retirement. On June 3, 1995 he was united in marriage to Duan Franklin at the Black Hills while on horseback. Doug enjoyed woodworking and had a passion for the rodeo.
