Dr. William Edward "Bill" Morton, 61, formerly of Rockwell City, died November 9, 2021 from Covid-19 at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, Colorado, where he had resided for the past 14 years. Bill was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Bill is survived by his wife Darla (Uilk) of Brighton, Colorado, father Robert "Bob" Morton of Twin Lakes, daughter Rebecca Morton and her children Georgia Hammen and Oliver Morton of Leominster, Massachusetts, and daughter Shelley (Alan) LaMar and their children Katherine and Samuel of Maquoketa, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruetta "Swede" (Anderson) Morton, sister Anita Morton, grandparents Bob and Gladys Morton and Roy and Ella Anderson and uncles Denman and Glenn Morton. Bill was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on January 18, 1960. He graduated from El Segundo (California) High School in 1978. He received a degree in Mortuary Science in 1981 and a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 1998. In February 1998 Bill donated a kidney to his sister. He was An Eagle Scout and an avid runner, completing 2 marathons in every state, the last in October, 2013, helped organize the Twin Lakes Triathlon in 2006 and had hosted the Running With Scissors marathon in Brighton since 2014. He was an accomplished musician and composer and could play most brass instruments, the guitar, drums and piano.
