Duane E. Touney

Duane E. Touney, 13, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 from injuries suffered in a car accident. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church officiated by Msgr. Kevin McCoy. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Corpus Christi Church. Duane is survived by his parents, Dr. Ed and Hiedi Touney of Fort Dodge; siblings, Rose; Teresa; Ann; Joseph; Benjamin; Jennifer; and Sam all at home; grandparents, Wynn Touney of Fort Dodge; Gwen Bacon-Gist of Chariton; Doug (Kim) Bacon of Albia and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duane Touney; step-grandfather, Roger Gist and cousin, Lily Jacob. Duane Edward Touney was born February 25, 2002 in Ames. He attended school in Osage at the Sacred Heart School. In the First Grade Duane and his family moved to Fort Dodge where he continued his education at Saint Edmond Schools. Duane was tremendously involved in school. He played football, basketball and baseball, ran track, and sang in the choir. He was an altar server for Holy Trinity Parish and was formerly involved with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Duane's favorite baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Duane dearly loved and cared for his family, especially his brothers and sisters. He will be deeply missed. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family's discretion.
