Dwaylene Evans

December 20, 1942 — January 7, 2024

Dwaylene “Dee” Evans, 81, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the Rotary Senior Living Center in Eagle Grove.


A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 2nd from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Bob Heun Shelter at Kennedy Park just north of Fort Dodge. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.


Survivors include her daughter Debbie Evans of Fort Dodge, son Brandon Evans of Fort Dodge, son Dennis (Jana) Evans of Laurens, IA, grandchildren Tyler Gray, Matt Evans, Sean Evans, Brienna (Max) Hanish, and Derek Evans, great grandchildren Archer and Zeke.


She was preceded by her parents Floyd and Bessie (Blaha) Allbee, daughter-in-law Melissa Evans, sister Donna Kimball, brothers Darrell and Duane Allbee.


Dwaylene Sharon Allbee was born on December 20, 1942, in Detroit, MI. Just before high school the family moved to Barnum, IA, where she graduated from Barnum High School in 1960. Dee was united in marriage to Larry Evans and to this union were their 3 children born. The couple were later divorced. Dee was caretaker all her life from raising her children to working as C.N.A for years at Friendship Haven. Following her retirement, she worked part time at the Humane Society. She enjoyed crocheting and word puzzles. Dee would often spend time with her sister Donna, especially attending church on Sundays.
