Farnhamville Earlene L. Wilson 95, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Stewart Memorial Hospital. Lake City. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie, with Rev. Dr. James H. Chesnutt officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Church until service time. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Earlene is survived by her husband Floyd; her children, Gwen (Rex) Benham of Fayetteville, AR, Roger (Rochelle) Wilson of Moville, Gary (Nancy) Wilson of Dallas Center, and Renee Wilson of Farnhamville; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Wilson; one granddaughter in infancy; 3 infant greatgrandchildren; her parents, Earl and Laura (Koppe) Schenck; and sister Joan Hirsch. Earlene Louise Schenck was born April 3, 1923 at Dakota City, Iowa. She graduated from Vernon High School, with the Class of 1940, and also graduated from Tobin Business College in 1941. Following her education, Earlene worked as a secretary for the Admissions Office at Morningside College in Sioux City, where she met her husband. In 1946, she was united in marriage to Floyd Wilson. Earlene loved vegetable and flower gardening, fishing, garage sales, and researching genealogy. She was active in the Farnhamville Methodist Church Choir, and the Womens Club and Walk to Emmaus.
