Ed Rykhus

Edward D. Rykhus, 77, of Fort Dodge passed away Feb. 17, 2019 fighting a good fight, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Ed was born in Ft Dodge on Aug 2, 1941 to Severt and Mary (McLuckie) Rykhus. He went to school in Otho, graduating in 1959. He liked his gardening, often giving more away than keeping, and when the weather turned cold, he spent time watching Nascar. He is survived by his son, Steve, and his wife Sarah, grandson Nathan all of Stockton, CA, daughter, Cindy Rykhus-Fagan, and her husband, Bob of Kevin, MT, step -grandsons, Tim and his family of Mtn. Home, ID, and Shane, of Albany, OR, a brother, Bob Rykhus of CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry E. Rykhus, his parents, brothers, Paul, Elmer, Don and Ron, and a sister, Margie. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with a Prayer Service beginning at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
