Edward Reding

Edward N. Reding, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Marian Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 20, 2020 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. Ed is survived by his wife, Shirley Reding of Fort Dodge; children, Joe (Connie) Reding of Fort Collins, CO and Brenda Laufersweiler of Fort Dodge; grandsons, Taylor Laufersweiler, Kyle Utley, Tanner Utley, Riley Utley (Monique), Nicholas (Kelly) Reding, Collin Reding, and Logan Reding; great-grandchildren, Athena Utley, Parker Reding, and Ariella Schuster; siblings, Don Reding of Algona, Joyce (Donald) Illg of Urbandale, KayAnn (Ed) Bordy of Chicago; and sister-in-law, Mary Alice (Paul) Koppen. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth (Wagner) Reding; siblings, Marjorie and Harold Frideres, Marvin and Edna Reding, Maurice and Betty Reding, and Delmar and Marjorie Reding and Norma Reding; and brother-in-law, Roger Arndorfer. Edward Nicholas Reding was born February 4, 1932 in Riverdale Township near Saint Joseph. He attended Saint Joseph schools and graduated from Saint Joseph High School. He was united in marriage to Shirley Arndorfer on February 10, 1960 at Saint Cecelia's in Algona. The couple made their home in Algona. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Army, he returned to the Algona area. He co-founded Blacktop Service of Humboldt. He was a member of the 19th Honor Flight and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
