Eileen E. Ludwig, 84, of Rockwell City passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Rockwell City with Pastor Chadric Dietrich officiating. Funeral services will be livestreamed via the Immanuel Lutheran Church Facebook page (Immanueltrinitylutheran). Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon at the church.
Eileen Edith Junkmann was born December 26, 1939 in Pocahontas County to Carl and Luella Viola (Cassen) Junkmann. She was educated in a country school in Pocahontas County; graduated from Manson High School in 1958 and Tobin Business School in Fort Dodge. In October of 1958, she was united in marriage to Edward Ludwig. The couple later divorced. Eileen began working in 1966 for the Calhoun County Assessor's Office and retired in December of 2001.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth (Mitch) Hambleton of Dallas Center; sons, Mark (Patty) Ludwig of Story City, Dale (Andi) Ludwig of Clear Lake, and Joel (Liz) Ludwig of Johnston; granddaughters, Sarah (Daniel) Howell of Dallas Center and Taylor Diehl (fiance Clayton Grandquist) of Des Moines; grandsons, Rev. Aaron (Katie) Hambleton of Eldora and Brayden Ludwig of Pittsburgh, PA; great-granddaughters, Theresa Ruth Hambleton, Amelia Blake Howell, Eliza Maye Howell, Isabella Grace Howell, and Magdalena Grace Hambleton; great-grandsons, John Mitchell Hambleton, Malachi James Hambleton, Josiah David Hambleton, and Theodore Philip Hambleton; nephew, Brian (Martha) Junkmann; and great-nieces, Erin and Emily Junkmann.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, LaVerne Junkmann; sister-in-law, Cheryl Junkmann; nephews, Steve and Bruce Junkmann; her grandparents and great- granddaughter, Anastasia Hope Hambleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Rockwell City Rotary Club in memory of Eileen.
