Farnhamville- Elaine E. Saliger, 66, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at her home. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in Evergreen Cemetery in Lohrville led by Pastor Doug Rushton of New Covenant Church. A visitation will be 11:00 AM Wednesday until 1:30 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Elaine is survived by her husband Martin Abrahams of Farnhamville, stepson Boyd (Shelly) Saliger of Lohrville, step grandsons Keegan and Mason Goodwin of Gowrie, past son in law Matt Goodwin, and siblings Pete (Sherrill) Jorgensen of Gowrie and Alan (Mary) Jorgensen of Farnhamville. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Helen (Kilmer) Jorgensen, husband Leo Saliger, and sister Corrine Jackson. Elaine Eva Jorgensen was born on September 15, 1956 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Farnhamville, graduating from Cedar Valley High School. On December 14, 1992 she was united in marriage to Leo Saliger. The couple farmed and operated Saliger Trucking for many years. Leo passed away in 2017. Elaine also worked for Greene County Medical Center Public Health until retiring in 2019. On December 10, 2021 she was united in marriage to Martin Abrahams. She loved entertaining family and friends and she enjoyed baking goodies for everyone. She was a hard worker and took care of the cattle on the farm and could be found bouncing up and down as she rode the lawn mower tending the yard. She was a meticulous book keeper and never forgot a birthday. She loved her grandchildren above all else and will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
