Elizabeth Momsen

Elizabeth "Betty" Momsen, 79, of Cottage Grove, MN, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Pillars Hospice in Oakdale, MN. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary at 4:30. Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Chris Momsen of Woodbury, MN; Curtis Momsen (Mark Nelson) of Canton, MI; siblings, Pauline Munn of Fort Dodge; Helen Munn of Fort Dodge; Richard Munn of Sun City, AZ; Edward Munn of Fort Dodge; and William Munn of Stuart. She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Aileen (Maher) Munn; husband, Ronald Momsen; siblings, John (Jack) Munn; Donald Munn; Dorothy Olson; Billy Munn; and James Munn. Elizabeth Jane Munn was born March 3, 1935 in Fort Dodge. She attended Fort Dodge public schools, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Betty was employed with the Boston Store for a period of time and later was a telephone operator for a number of years at Central Telephone. On October 4, 1958, Betty was united in marriage to Ronald Momsen at the Holy Rosary Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge until 1981 when the family moved to Rosemount, MN. Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society.
