Ellen Defoe

Ellen Kay DeFoe, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Ellen is survived by her children James, Troy, and Tami DeFoe all of Kansas City, grandchildren Melissa Chrisman, Houston DeFoe, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents William Barrett and Florence (Morris) Sullivan, husband Dale in 2012, grandson James DeFoe Jr, and siblings Dorothy Azeltine and John Sullivan. Ellen Kay Sullivan was born September 17, 1939 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She is a Fort Dodge Senior High graduate. Ellen was united in marriage to Dale DeFoe on June 23, 1957 and the couple made Fort Dodge their home. In 1978, the DeFoe family moved to Missouri where Ellen owned and operated Electrolysis By Ellen for last 20 years of her working career. Ellen was a people person that constantly put others before herself. Ellen was always about family, friends, and people she didn't know. She always put them before herself. That's what she enjoyed most, making people happy. She will be greatly missed. Memorials may be left to the family's discretion.
